RCFC NR-I launched the “Ashwagandha Campaign” and released a brochure during a two-day training program on “Conservation and Cultivation of Medicinal Plants” at NITTTR, Chandigarh. More than 100 teachers participated in the training, where they learned about the importance of medicinal plants and the establishment of school herbal gardens. To raise awareness of the “Ashwagandha Campaign” among students of Punjab and Chandigarh region, the RCFC NR-I team has planned to organize painting, poster, and essay writing competitions in two phases, in coordination with school teachers.

Last week of January 2025, the RCFC NR-1 team-Ms. Avika Subba and Dr. Meenakshi Thakur (National Medicinal Plants Board, Ministry of AYUSH) conducted an Ashwagandha Awareness Campaign across schools in Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula. This initiative aimed to educate young minds about Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)—a wonder medicinal plant known for its immense health benefits in Ayurveda.

In an effort to promote conservation and large-scale cultivation, the RCFC NR-1 team will distribute 200,000 Ashwagandha seedlings across the Tricity region. This will empower schools, students, and communities to participate in preserving this valuable medicinal plant.
Join us in this green movement!
Stay tuned for updates on the next phase.
